Are you ready to transform your freelance business?

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]untitled (30 of 223)Most freelancers send too much time on their projects and completely disregard their business growth meaning they are stuck working several jobs or not earning the income they deserve.

After starting my freelance consulting business in 2011 and since turning it into my full-time career that provides me with financial and lifestyle freedom. I have learnt (sometimes the hard way) there is a SMART way and a HARD way to achieve true success as a freelancer.

Understanding the difference between an effective and ineffective way to achieve freelancer success is the vital difference and I want to share this with you. As a freelancer, there is no ‘easy’ way to achieve success but by working the smart way you can actually grow a thriving business that will reward you for the effort you put into your business.

There are so many benefits to being a freelancer especially the flexibility and freedom you have to build your career and business around your lifestyle. As a freelancer, you can decide how and why you work. There are so many great reasons why people can easily get started as a freelancer:

  1. Limited start-up funding required. You can get started today.
  2. You can work as much or as little as you like.
  3. You can market a skill or hobby you actually enjoy.
  4. You can grow your business to become a profitable income stream.
  5. You can establish a career and build a business from your initial freelance service offering

What is a Freelancer

A freelance business is a great business model that allows you to get started with virtually no overheads that you can start almost immediately with a bit of time and passion. So many people think freelancing is just for creative professionals but I have learned that the business model is so much more. I define freelancing as:

“A business started by an individual that markets a service often working from home.”

This means that freelancers have a unique set of circumstances as they grow their business to ensure they stay on track to reach their goals. This website helps freelancers avoid the common trap of working endless hours for little reward.

The business model I teach has three distinct components that directly addresses the common problems faced by freelancers all over the world:

  • Not charging for what your service is worth
  • Getting stuck in a discounting price war
  • Not focusing on the right market or clients
  • No focusing on the right things or too many things at once and limit business growth
  • Having a service offering that is too broad

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”26″ down=”24″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_text_separator title=”Freelancers Must” border=”no”]

  1. Be driven to grow their business
  2. Be self motivated to work everyday
  3. Be dedicated to their vision
  4. Add value to their market
  5. Be able to set boundaries to have a good work/life balance
  6. Ba paid for their work

[vc_text_separator title=”Freelancers Must Not” border=”no”]

  1. Be lazy and unmotivated
  2. Be unreliable
  3. Be unfair to clients and their market
  4. Over promise and under deliver

How I became a Successful Freelancer

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]My Discovery into freelancingMy name is Alyce Johnson and I started this blog to share my expertise in the Freelance Business Model using my Freelance Success Roadmap to help other freelancers easily transition through the distinct phases of freelance business growth.

If you would like to learn more about my expertise in the freelance business model read more about my story here.

You see, for some time I’ve had this idea. An idea that was always in my mind because so many people suggested I do it. However, I didn’t for so long, until now. My idea was this…

Share my system for growing and transforming freelance businesses to give freelancers income and career stability by focusing on the right things at the right time.

I started my freelance business in 2011 after losing two jobs in the space of 8 weeks. This made me rethink what I wanted from my life and my career goals. I had always been interested in business but had no experience in building my own business or even where to start. I began researching possible business opportunities with the skillset and knowledge I had from my previous jobs and freelancing become the obvious solution.

Freelancing was the ONLY solution for me because.

  • Limited start-up funding required
  • You can get started today
  • You can work as much or as little as you like
  • You can market a skill or hobby you enjoy and are already competent in
  • You can grow your business to become a profitable income stream
  • You can establish a career and build a business from your initial freelance service offering

Freelance Success Roadmap

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]Freelancer Success RoadmapThe freelance success road map was created as I was grew my own freelance business taking into account all the lessons and experiences I had along the way and doing extensive research into proven methods to further develop my business. As my research continued I turned my focus into learning more about the freelance business model to ensure I could get the most results in the time I spend working on and in my business.

The sole purpose of creating this content was to see other freelancers achieve their version of the New Stability through income and career freedom as a freelancer. I do this by addressing the biggest problems faced by most freelancers that limit their growth:

  • Not charging for what their service is worth
  • Getting stuck in a discounting price war
  • Not focusing on the right market or clients
  • Having a service offering that is too broad
  • No focusing on the right things or too many things at once and limit business growth

This roadmap will help you combat these issues and give you the tools you need to generate not just a part time income but giving you the formula to earn a great income in any freelance business.

The secret to successful freelancing is having the right tools and system to breakthrough the common roadblocks.

As a freelance we often work by ourselves meaning we can only do a certain number of things at once while still trying to establish their foundation. If you are serious about building a successful foundation you need to follow the right process to reach your business goals.

The freelance success road map is broken down into three specific categories allowing freelancers to focus on different aspects of their business at different times.

I want to tell you why I’m convinced this is THE BEST system if you are serious about building a profitable freelancing career.

This system is all about giving you the leverage and processes to identify the right market for you and grow your business past the traditional freelance business capacity and give you solutions to grow you business by leveraging outsourcing, products, and the right process.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]Freelance Success Roadmap Version 2This system takes freelancers through all the steps to build a profitable freelance business while avoiding the common traps of competing on price or finding themselves at the freelance glass ceiling.

This system will help you stay focused on your business goals and look at the bigger picture while still taking the daily action required to transform your business.

This has been developed using my personal experience of building a successful freelance business and using the best information available on building a business transformed into the freelance business model to handle the unique set of issues freelancers often face. I have provided you with a simple outline of the strategy below to help you get started immediately.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” background_color=”#ffffff” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”52″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

Stage 1 – Start

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]The first stage of the Freelance Success Roadmap involves deciding on a service offering and the market you intend to serve. Freelancers must back themselves and be confident as they develop their service offering for potential clients.

To reach your freelancing potential it is vital you take the time as you start your business to develop a solid foundation for business growth.

This foundation can help you avoid the common trap of reaching a point where you cannot grow your business any further. So many freelancers offer a great service but once they reach their individual capacity they have no idea how to increase their income or build a larger and more profitable business.  I have learnt (some times the hard way) there is a SMART way and a HARD way to achieve this.

By combatting the common issues freelancers face in their businesses in the early stages you will save yourself time and money while reaching greater and faster levels of success.

The key things you will do in stage 1:

  • Develop your high level business goals
  • Develop your service offering
  • Identify your ideal client
  • Understand what your market actually wants
  • Start building your networks
  • Find affordable yet effective marketing solutions
  • Learn the real problems clients in your market are facing
  • How to price your service
  • The best platform for your service e.g. online or offline

As freelancers we can only do so much at one time so it is important to learn about your market and provide a real solution to the problems your clients face. Taking one step at a time and focusing on the activities that will give you business the maximum return for your effort is vital while you are refining the value of your service.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”52″ down=”0″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”expandable” text_align=”left” background_color=”#e0e0e0″ more_button_label=”Simple Steps to Start your Freelance Business” less_button_label=”Next Steps” button_position=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1452670822222{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1452670934735{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}”][vc_column_text]How to start a freelance business[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”52″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

Stage 2 – Build

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]After developing a service offering that meets the needs of your clients and completing your first projects it’s time to turn start becoming a leader in your field and developing your service processes to provide a quality service and maximising your output.

The key things you will do in stage 2:

  • Become an expert in your market
  • Educate your market
  • Refine your processes
  • Create ongoing relationships with clients
  • Think about your long term growth strategy

Finding ways to refine your process and setting up systems to streamline your service offerings can make a huge difference to your capacity and ensure you deliver a consistent high quality service.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”expandable” text_align=”left” background_color=”#e0e0e0″ more_button_label=”Simple Steps to Build Your Freelance Business” less_button_label=”Next Steps” button_position=”center”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1452670951117{padding-top: 10px !important;padding-right: 10px !important;padding-bottom: 10px !important;padding-left: 10px !important;}”]Build your freelance business[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”52″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

Stage 3 – Expand

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]After you have built a sustainable and stable freelance business by growing your client base and becoming a leading service provider in your industry most freelancers can find themselves becoming stagnant not knowing how to grow their business further. One person only has a certain amount of hours in the day to complete projects and take on more clients. Stage 3 is all about finding opportunities for business growth to either free up your time to focus on getting more clients or finding a way to create a more passive type of income from products or service packages.

There are a number of ways freelancers can expand their businesses especially when they have taken the time to build a solid foundation and create leverage in their business for growth.

The key things you will do in stage 3:

  • Identify ways you can provide additional services.
  • Create passive income streams.
  • Identify opportunities for premium products and services.
  • Streamline your business.

By freeing up your time as a freelancer you can avoid the common trap of reaching a glass ceiling of growth. Understanding the value your business offers and transferring that into a static product or generic service can be a great way to achieve this.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”expandable” text_align=”left” background_color=”#e0e0e0″ more_button_label=”Simple Steps to Expand Your Freelance Business” less_button_label=”Next Steps” button_position=”center”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Stage 3 Expand your business[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” css_animation=””][vc_column][vc_separator type=”transparent” up=”52″ down=”0″][vc_column_text]

Freelance Roadmap

[/vc_column_text][vc_separator type=”small” position=”center” up=”17″ down=”18″][vc_column_text]Freelancing with a coffeeAs a freelancer or prospective freelancer I bet you want the answer to the following question:

“What does it really take to transform my freelance business balance a good income and lifestyle freedom”

So how can you see actual results and transformation in your freelance business?

The Freelance Success Roadmap takes freelancers through all the steps to build a profitable freelance business while avoiding the common traps of competing on price or finding themselves at the freelance glass ceiling.

This system will help you stay focused on your business goals and look at the bigger picture while still taking the daily action required to transform your business.

This has been developed using my personal experience of building a successful freelance business and using the best information available on building a business transformed into the freelance business model to handle the unique set of issues freelancers often face.

What have I learnt building my business?

The fact is you need to value the service you offer and have confidence in your abilities.

The reason most freelancers don’t value their abilities and may not be 100% confident in the service they offer is they aren’t sure about the process of building a successful freelance business.

Building a freelance business isn’t difficult (it requires work and dedication) if you know when the make the next move and when to expand. It’s all about knowing the right time for your business and focusing on the right strategy for growth.
